George Digweed MBE, a renowned English sport shooter and multiple world and European clay-shooting champion, was born on 21 April 1964 in Sussex, England. This legendary figure in the world of competitive shooting has 30 world titles to his credit, including 16 in Sporting, 12 in FITASC, and two in Compak, 19 European titles, with 15 in FITASC and four in Compak, four European Compak titles, and 12 World Cups.
Digweed's journey in shooting began at the age of 12 when his grandfather introduced him to the sport and gifted him a .410 shotgun. His passion for shooting and competitive spirit quickly led him to pursue competitive shooting. His first memorable win at a competition was in 1986 at the Home International Skeet Championship, held in Melton Mowbray Gun Club. Digweed is the first man to shoot 100 straight in a world championship.
In October 2011, Digweed broke his record by hitting a clay at 130 yards while being filmed for a Fieldsports Channel TV program, using standard cartridges. He had previously set the record at 118 yards in America. During the World Sporting Championship in Texas, USA, held on 25 and 26 April 2009, he won his 16th World Championship, an event that began in 2007 to discover the best all-around shooting champion in the world. He also won the World Sporting Championship, the European Championship, the Mitsubishi World Series, the Pan African and the Italian Grand Prix in 2009.
In April 2022, he made history by becoming the first sportsman to win a world title in five different decades—the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s—when he won the Sporting World Championship.

As a senior, he continued his winning streak, securing medals at World Sporting and FITASC, including the Beretta World Sporting title in 2019 and the Clay Shooting Classic in 2022.
